We would love to sell you some of our fine orchids. We sell orchid plants at orchid shows, from our website, and if convenient we allow weekend visitors to our private greenhouse. If you wish to visit, please email us to see if we will be available.

We accept several forms of payment, including a convenient PayPal account to receive payments by credit card or bank draft. We also accept personal checks and money orders.

Simply email us with a list of the orchid plants you want, and we will tell you exactly what is available, what size, etc. At this time we don't have a shopping cart, but we're working on it.

Click on this link to set-up a new PayPal account or to make a payment by credit card or bank draft. This is a secure link. PayPal requires our e-mail address to make a payment to our account, and it is: emerkle@merklesorchids.com

All sales are within the continental United States only. No shipments to Hawaii. Agriculturally restricted states such as California, Arizona, Florida, etc, may require inspections which can delay shipping and the plants may be required to ship bareroot. No foreign sales or shipments.

Plants offered for sale are in limited quantities, on a "first come, first serve" basis. We do not make substitutions for plants out of stock, without contacting you and with your expressed permission.

Before sending payment, please e-mail us with your plant requests to make sure the plants are still available. We will hold the plants up to ten (10) days for your payment to arrive.

E-mail is the very best way to contact us. Due to our busy schedule, email is the very best and most convenient way to contact us. Our E-mail address is: emerkle@merklesorchids.com

Our mailing address is:

Merkle's Orchids

Orders are shipped as soon as possible after payment has been received. Usually this is the following Monday or Tuesday. Occasionally there are weather problems here or at the address we are shipping to, when sending plants is too risky. We will notify you either by email or a telephone call if there will be a likely delay. Plants are shipped in pots unless listed otherwise, or unless you tell us to ship them bare root. We currently ship plants via USPS Priority Mail. Great care is taken to pack your plants appropriately for weather conditions. We have heat packs available which are rated for 60 hours of heat. They are an additional $3.00 charge.

Shipping Costs: We charge approximated shipping costs. This may vary slightly, either below or above the actual costs.

Discounts: Purchases over $100.00 receive a 10% discount.

Guarantee: It is very difficult to "guarantee" orchid plants. Due to the abuse which occurs during shipping, we cannot guarantee flower buds or flower stems, and we cannot guarantee unblemished leaves or growths. Occasionally, especially with a one-of-a-kind orchid, the plant being offered may have large blemishes, which do not affect the overall health of the plant. We will notify you of this beforehand and we may be able to email you with a photo of the actual plant.

Depending on your cultural methods, even high quality awarded orchids can produce deformed or off-color flowers. This is only temporary and will improve when culture improves. Orchids produce thousands of offspring from a single seedpod and no two seedlings are the same. A single seed pod will produce plants with above-average flowers as well as those with poor-quality flowers. We cannot guarantee good quality flowers from grown-from-seed plants.

If you have any problem with one of our plants contact us immediately either by phone or email. Plants must be returned to us within ten (10) days of their arrival for an exchange or refund.

Once the plant has left our care, we cannot guarantee its continued health, growth, or blooming. That is your responsibility. Orchid growing requires a learning process of providing each plants' needs.

Pests: We offer pest free orchid plants. We use a combination of "natural" and chemical insecticides to keep our orchids free of aphids, thrips, mealy bugs, scale, slugs, and snails. There are two commonly-occurring insects; fungus gnats and springtails, both very tiny, which occur in nearly every greenhouse and which do not pose a threat to the plants. These two insects may occasionally show up in the potting mix of your orchid and you should not be alarmed.

Plants in our photo galleries are occasionally for sale. These are usually one-of-a-kind plants, and we have placed them in our photo gallery for educational purposes. As the plants grow older we divide them up or remove keikis, and these are often offered for sale. Let us know if there is a particular plant you are interested in and we'll tell you if its available.

Thank you. We hope to hear from you.
