Eulophia petersii usually grows in full sunlight. The plant produces golden yellow pseudobulbs topped with two very sharp, stiff, blue leaves with a serrated edge. I grow this plant in full sun spring through fall in Tennessee. I leave it outside, taking it in when nights drop below freezing and finally put it in a cool, bright spot in the greenhouse during the winter where it receives no water. The plant is currently potted in a 12 inch clay pot with broken pot shards and a little osmunda fiber for potting media. This plant is rarely watered. Usually the occasional rainfall it receives is sufficient, but more water is applied during blooming. |
